Color Your World: Gray
Gray
(Or Grey for us Brits, and also, Colour Your World)
Grey, one of the least exciting colours out there. Think about it. When the weather is poor so you’re stuck inside, it’s grey. It’s an Achromatic colour, which means quite literally “Without Colour”. YAWN!
But what if Grey was the colour of intricately carved statues? Statues that represent the masters of the galaxy, tricked into losing their souls in exchange for immortal bodies? Bodies of alloy, unfeeling, ever-moving. Kill a warrior of the Necron army, and they are reformed back in status pods. To fight the Necrons is prolonging the inevitable.
“The secrets of the universe are within my grasp. You cannot stop me now.”

I’d love to see more statues in this style be released by Kromlech, or smaller pieces in this same style. I think it would make for a beautiful board to play on.
Pretty cool, right? Much cooler than “without colour” or a raincloud? Damn right! That’s why I made this photo using some of my Necrons and themed scenery. The statues themselves are by Kromlech, and look fantastic together. I’m kind of temped to get some Necron style plinths for them (particularly the one of the right, to give him a wider base) and really add to the incredible image of these towering monsters. They also out me in mind of the statues you see at the end of the Astartes shorts.
Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things long ago, and we will do so again.
Imotekh The Storm Lord
The Ancient Egyptian influence of the current versions of Necrons really comes through with these statues. I wouldn’t find it difficult to imagine a pair of statues like this at the entrance to the tomb of a powerful Overlord or a Phaeron
